2. Overlap each section by 1cm (3⁄8in), pin and sew using a long straight stitch (see stitch library).

3.Sew on the mouth using backstitch and the patch using straight overstitch.

4. On one arm, draw the stitch detail in vanishing fabric pen. Backstitch along the line and repeat for the stitches on the head. Pin both pairs of arms together and running stitch around. Stuff well, leaving the top 1cm (3⁄8in) clear (unstuffed).

5. Place the front and back monster pieces wrong (back) sides together and insert the arms at each side. Pin and running stitch with black thread, leaving a gap along one side. Stuff, pin and sew up the gap. To finish, sew on the button eyes.
